ACC: Acute Carotid Clinic

This site is intended to facilitate direct physician to physician referrals for patients with symptomatic Carotid artery stenosis. Referrals from non-physicians will not be reviewed.

The St. Mike’s Acute Carotid Clinic (ACC) was developed to:

Allow for rapid

identification and triaging

of patients with

symptomatic carotid

disease.

Rapid referral of acute

carotid patients to the

ACC.

Same day vascular
imaging of high
risk patients.

Adherence to the

Canadian Best Practice

Recommendations for

Stroke Care:

revascularization of

symptomatic patients

within 14 days of the

event, once the patient

is stable.
